Duration: 1 Day

Class size: 4

Course Profile:

This 3 in 1 package offers clients the regulatory independent harness inspection, a theory and practical demonstration of SG4-10 explaining the Advanced Handrail rule, its implications and different methods of installing it. Also, if something goes wrong what plans are in place to rescue a person who has fallen? The safety harness may have arrested his fall but that same harness will now turn from saviour to killer as it can cause Syncope, formally described as “suspension trauma”.

The regulations dictate that a rescue plan is in place and everyone at the scene is aware of what must be done. Various methods can be used to rescue a person who has fallen and whose fall has been arrested by a safety harness.   This includes the various “Gotcha” kits with rescue reels.  This course will look at the options available and give practical training with one of these kits.

The 3 courses can be run separately if required.

Objectives:

To ensure that all safety harnesses are inspected and therefore legally compliant.

To ensure all those working in the scaffolding trade are aware of their responsibilities under SG4-10.

To ensure that a rescue plan is in place and that all involved are aware of their own responsibilities in the event of an incident.

Award: All candidates will receive a certificate from S.O.S. Training
