Objectives:

• This course is aimed at Scaffold Contractors and scaffolders who find themselves working in areas that the standard system scaffolds will not work.
• This course is also designed for scaffolders who are working towards their SOLAS Advanced Course Assessment.

Award:

Candidates will receive a certificate from S.O.S. Training

Venue:

The venue must have an adequate sized classroom and a safely cordoned off area of adequate size to erect and dismantle various tube n fitting structures. A SOLAS approved training centre would be the preferred venue.

Course Content:

• Legislation, Scaffold COP, TG20-13, Introduction to tube n fitting, SG4-10
• Correct setting out procedures, erecting and dismantling various tube n fitting scaffolds including Independents, Towers, Birdcages, Cantilevers and Hangers.
• Working with beams, ladder beams, unit beams and alloy beams.
• Mixing system scaffolds with tube n fitting and the problems that this can create.
• Manual handling and Housekeeping.
• Understanding Basic Scaffold Designs
• Theory Assessment and Course summary.
