Objectives:

At the end of this course candidates will have a greater understanding of the regulations and guidelines that apply to the scaffold boards on their site.

Candidates will be able to apply that knowledge to determine if a scaffold board is fit for purpose.

Award: Candidates will receive an S.O.S. Training Certificate.

Venue: A suitable classroom that will cater for class numbers.

Course Content:

  • Legislation and Guidelines, BS 2482:2009
  • Contractual duties with regard to hand-over certificates, checklists 1 and 2, and the GA3’s
  • Board damage including abuse, overloading, notching, using as skids, fungal decay, rot, insect damage, knots, warping, fissures or splits etc.
  • Board spans, end bands, markings and grading
  • Storage, quarantine areas including destruction to prevent re-use
  • Theory assessment and course summary.
