Objectives:

To raise awareness of both short and long term injuries associated with incorrect manual handling procedures. At the end of this course all candidates will be aware of the correct manual handling techniques involved in scaffolding so as to avoid injury.

Award: Candidates will receive a certificate from S.O.S Training

Venue: A suitable classroom to cater for class numbers and a safely cordoned off area for the practical assessments

Course Content:

  • Legislation
  • Power point presentation on injury statistics, risk assessments and individual capabilities
  • Practical demonstration of the correct lifting techniques and manual handling procedures in lifting scaffold tubes, boards, fittings and beams. Using rope ‘n wheel and learning the correct knots to use in scaffolding.
